We will handle returns on a case by case basis. All merchandise is inspected before shipment. it is the responsibility of the purchaser to inspect packages received and to pursue remedial action from the carrier when there is damage to the packaging which would obviously be from shipping mishandling.
No item may be returned without a return authorization from Jacobs Online. That authorization will just be an email response to your email request. No RMA number and no return labels are issued by Jacobs Online LLC. If any wire has been removed from a coil or spool or has been unwound and rewound in any degree, it may not be returned. Spools will be accurately weighed to insure none has been removed. If found to be underweight or rewound, the item will not be refunded. Returns that are approved must be returned at the purchaser's expense and original shipping charges will not be refunded. The original shipping charge is what it cost to actually send the item regardless of whether it was listed as "free shipping" or not, in which case the shipping was actually included as part of the price. Returned transformers must be in the original box with the original packaging (brown box, not white USPS outer box), except for 25VA and 50VA transformers which are not shipped with an internal box. The 25Va and 50VA must be sent with plenty of padding to insure it arrives in original condition. Transformers and other electrical items must have the original wire ends. Devices that have been hooked up are not returnable. ALL RETURNED ITEMS MUST BE IN ORIGINAL CONDITION. A 20% restocking fee will be charged by deducting it from the refund amount along with the original shipping amount.
This policy is not intended to hinder honest people who may have ordered something by mistake but unfortunately is necessary due to those few who want us to pay for their mistakes or who don't want to pay for their trial and error design approach.
Using a forwarding service?
Please contact us for the extra charge for a tracking number. We are not responsible for orders shipped through a forwarding service and will not replace those orders if they do not arrive (often they are just very late). You will need a tracking number for proof to your forwarding service that it arrived to them and they are responsible if you do not receive it. In our experience, forwarding services are not very reliable.
We will be glad to cancel any order with no charge as long as the item has not been shipped. Since we also try to get orders out the same day they are received, there is usually a very limited window of opportunity to cancel orders. Any order shipped cannot be cancelled and will be treated as a return per the above section.
We spend a great deal of time and effort looking for suppliers that offer products at the best prices. We also buy in the largest quantity practical for us to receive the best price and pass it on to you. Price increases are a way of life and when a supplier raises our prices, we are forced to pass them on. Therefore, we reserve the right to change prices without notice.
